The Immersion Board & Train Program
Our Board and Train program, in Farmington, Arkansas, is where your pup comes and stays with us for Four Weeks. In this program Steve will take your pup from ground zero to a very well trained dog. With multiple sessions per day, the weeks are immersed in games and training. The principles of good dog training are instilled with the dog as well as a constant schedule and plenty of exercise to fill the day.
We focus on a well trained but also happy “emotional” dog to ensure the best possible results. In this program the dogs will learn our “communication system”, as well as all the commands, come, sit , down, place, stay, leash walking, recalls, leave it, wait to go thru a door, no jumping on people, go to kennel, as well as off leash reliability”
This is quite a lot to learn in a months time, but we work hard to accomplish all this. Most dogs will accomplish all this as well as public manners, a Canine Good Citizen Test , if owner wants to do this, and most importantly have the skills to have a great life with their family.
-
Rock-Solid Recall: When you call your dog, they will come to you.
-
Sit: This is one of the safest commands to give your dog to keep it from misbehaving.
-
Down: This command will teach your dog to go down when it becomes overly-excited, helping your pet to refrain from jumping up and on people when it hears this command.
-
Stay: Your dog to patiently await your return or your given release from the stay position.
-
Wait for Release: Your dog will look to you to release it to go out a door.
-
Go Through Door: Prevent door-dashing and create safe, polite behavior with the "Go Through Door" command. Your dog will wait calmly for your cue to pass through doors, avoiding accidents or over-excitement during transitions.
-
Go to Bed: We teach your dog to go to its bed when told and to enjoy being there.
-
Ongoing Support: Once your dog is trained, we will teach you how to manage your dog. Ongoing and consistent handling will produce a lifetime of enjoying a well-trained pooch.
-
Loose Leash Walking: Nothing is worse than your dog dragging you down the street on a walk. We teach you dog to yield to the leash and walk politely alongside of the owner.
-
Leave it: Teach your dog the important "Leave It" command, ensuring they avoid undesirable items or distractions. Whether it's food on the ground or something potentially harmful, your dog will learn to immediately back off on command.

Behaviors

Follow-Up
Support
Your relationship with K9 Nation doesn’t end after training. Steve provides lifetime support through weekly “Open Mat” sessions, where you can continue working with your dog in a supportive group environment. We also offer ongoing consultations to ensure the training sticks and evolves as your dog grows.

WE ALSO TRAIN YOU!
At the end of the program we will host an owners workshop. This is a non-negotiable part of the process. If I commit to train your dog, you must commit to attend this workshop, It is a 2-3 hour workshop packed full of fun and learning for you and your pup! This will ensure you know the same things your dog knows. It will equip you to handle the dog, how to be a good leader for the pup and continue his/her education. We have a blast in these workshops! Most people don’t leave after the workshop is officially dismissed.. Most of the time we stay several hours after, just working dogs, talking dogs and enjoying the new found joy of what your pup has learned and you now know!

LIFE-TIME PARTNERSHIP
At K9 Nation Training Center, the commitment to you and your dog extends well beyond the Immersion Program. We believe in building lifelong relationships with our clients, supporting your dog’s growth and training every step of the way. Whether you need future assistance with boarding, dog sports, or service dog training, we’re here for you. As part of this ongoing support, you and your dog are invited to attend our weekly "OPEN MAT" sessions. These group training nights offer the perfect opportunity to continue practicing skills, work on new techniques, and bond with other dogs and handlers. While you may not attend every week, the door is always open to refine your dog’s abilities, address any challenges, and ensure continued progress in a supportive environment.
WHAT VACCINATIONS
ARE REQUIRED FOR MY DOG?
K9 Nation Training Center requires the following vaccinations for your dog.
-
DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) – After the puppy series and 1-year booster, every 3 years. We will accept your veterinarian’s recommendation as long as it is within the AAHA/AVMA guidelines. Puppies must have at least 2 vaccinations of the puppy series.
-
Rabies – After the puppy vaccination and 1-year booster
-
Bordetella – Every 6 months.
-
We require vaccinations records and strongly recommend giving the vaccinations at least 5 days prior to your check-in date. This will give your dog’s immune system a chance to respond to the vaccination prior to their stay and the dog to recover if the shots cause side effects.
-
It is recommended that puppies receive the second vaccination of their puppy series two weeks prior to checking in to their first visit with us.
